The Journal of The Canadian Law Review
The Journal of the Canadian Law Review is our peer-reviewed academic publication, dedicated to showcasing thoughtful and rigorous legal research from emerging scholars across Canada. Published annually and hosted on the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), the Journal provides a national platform for students, early-career researchers, and young legal minds to contribute to timely legal debates and develop their scholarly voice.
Each volume features a wide range of topics—from constitutional issues and emerging areas of law to access to justice, legal reform, and comparative analysis. Submissions are reviewed by a team of law students, academics, and legal professionals to ensure high editorial standards and meaningful engagement with current legal challenges.
At its core, the Journal reflects CLR’s belief that youth should not only study law but also actively shape its direction. Through mentorship and collaborative editing, contributors gain valuable experience in academic publishing, legal writing, and peer review. The Journal plays a central role in advancing CLR’s mission to democratize legal scholarship and promote a more inclusive and representative legal discourse in Canada.
The Journal accepts submissions externally from External Research Publishers (ERPs) as well as interally from our Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) through our Fellowship Program.
