What is CLR’s mission?
The Canadian Law Review’s mission is to empower youth to shape Canada’s legal and public policy landscape by engaging in and contributing to academic discourse about the law.
What does CLR specialize in?
Our Editorial Team and Advisors include a diverse areas of legal expertise including: access to justice, administrative, criminal, constitutional, corporate, environmental, health, Indigenous, international, intellectual property, sports and entertainment, and technology law.
What opportunities does CLR provide?
Legal mentorship, publishing, editing, educational opportunities through legal writing workshops for mentees & editors, networking and speaker series events, and the opportunity for the youth perspective on legal issues to be heard by legal professionals from coast to coast. All opportunities and positions are volunteer and are not for pay.
How do I get involved in CLR?
Subscribe to our mailing list (it's a free subscription!), apply to our mentorship program (if eligible), apply to be an Editor (there are three branches of Editors; assistant, associate, and senior) apply to the branch you are eligible for. If you are a legal professional we are currently not taking any more Advisors at this time but if you are interested in getting involved please contact us at lawreview.canada@gmail.com.
Do I need to be in Canada or a Canadian Citizen to get involved with CLR?
Writer applications are open to Canadian students studying within Canada. outside of Canada, or international students studying inside Canada. Our editorial application portal for the 2022-2023 term opens in the summer of 2022.
How can I get access to networking opportunities and events?
Follow our social media and join our mailing list for updates, events will be held on virtual platforms (ie. Zoom). Some networking opportunities will be exclusive to the selected Mentees while many others will be publicly available to anyone who is subscribed to our mailing list.

Is CLR connected with any external organizations?
No, CLR is an independent organization but has partnerships with undergraduate and law school groups/societies all over Canada. We are also open to discussing a partnership, if your organization is interested in partnering with us, please email us at law review.canada@gmail.com
How does CLR promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Journal?
