THE BRIEF
THE BRIEF
The Brief is an informal academic publication hosted by the Canadian Law Review (CLR), which hosts a space for legal advocacy and discussion. As opposed to our coveted Canadian Law Review Journal, The Brief features more condensed, current, and broad issues in Canadian law. From legal opinions on cases or proposed bills to discussions about recent or upcoming legal issues to analyses of Canadian legislative frameworks, we seek to inspire a future generation of legal scholars to think, research, and write. Each issue will feature 3-6 articles, with each article ranging in size between 12 and 30 pages long, and will feature a variety of topics.
Each Year, the Brief publishes a Summer-Fall Issue as well as a Winter-Spring Issue.

THE BRIEF
BY THE CANADIAN LAW REVIEW

The Brief’s second issue, Interjurisdictional, is part of the Winter/Spring collection and discusses how law functions across or between jurisdictions.
This issue highlights the tension, overlap, and cooperation between national, international, and extraterritorial legal systems. It ties together legal challenges that transcend borders, prompting readers to consider how laws interact across boundaries, and how legal systems must evolve to address shared global problems in interconnected legal spaces.
This Legal Odyssey will voyage across the areas of criminal law, contract law, criminal procedure, human rights law, and Indigenous law. We welcome you to The Odyssey and wish you a safe journey.
